What kind of nerd am I?

What Be Your Nerd Type?
Your Result: Social Nerd

You're interested in things such as politics, psychology, child care, and peace. I wouldn't go so far as to call you a hippie, but some of you may be tree-huggers. You're the type of people who are interested in bettering the world. You're possible the least nerdy of them all; unless you participate in other activies that paled your nerdiness compared to your involvement in social activities. Whatever the case, we could still use more of you around. ^_^

16 Tons and what do you get?

This week has been a mixed week of productivity and disappointment. I will say that most of the disappointment is mild because I realize the circumstances outweigh my own feelings. These will pass.

I switched therapists and my new one seems to be the type I need. Very goal oriented and structured. I can be a bit chaotic in my delivery of stories or accounts of my days and life. I'm hoping she can help me focus on the things I'd like to accomplish.

This week was interesting and should be more so this weekend. Ken and I began running a weekly game night on FurryMUCK called Thursday Night Trivia n' More. This started last Thursday with Stump the Genius and last night, I hosted, Password. Now all the games start at 6pm and we are going to try and end them at 8pm. The four games we will be rotating each week are these: Stump the Genius, Password, Outburst and, our Match Game version, Fur-l in the Blank. If you want to come and participate/watch, just t trivia on FurryMUCK ( 8888) and you'll be teleported to the Studios.

We had a great turn out, about 13 people with over half of them active, but we had two drawbacks.

Another Weekend gone by.

First off, let me wishtoraneko a happy birthday!

Well, this weekend has been a bit of a blur and filled with late nights and frustrations, but none that are so very out of the ordinary. Last week, I was sick a bit, but now am feeling MUCH better. (Of course, there was the Cheez whiz incident, but I feel MUCH better now.) Still have the lingers of tiredness, but hopefully those things will improve over time. Unfortunately, being a girl is not the most fun thing in the world to be. All I can say is, what timing! Flu, twisted left ankle and... moodiness! What a combination.

I'm looking forward to this week, got a Chiropractic appointment today (Yay!), Movie and dinner with friends on Wednesday and Friday night, Thursday is the introduction of Password on FurryMUCK that I'll be hosting and the RP games on Sat and Sun.

I also realized that I have about 100 movies (mostly DVDs, but about 10 VHS) at my present place of residence. I still have more that are at the house even. See, since I like having friends over to watch movies and Ken & I often try and watch the same movie, I decided to build my Movie database. I've been wanting to do this, but it is very tedious and takes a lot of time if you really get detailed about it. I presently have 60 entered in and have another 40 to put in before tomorrow, I hope. I'd like to be able to send the list to a couple of friends so they can browse my selections for movie night.

I guess I've not announced Thursday Night Trivia n'  More here. Well, for those who are one FurryMUCK (or would like to be on FM), kensterfox and I have started a Trivia/gameshow night every Thursday at 6pm Pacific time (9pm Eastern). We will be alternating a game each week so that we have each game once a month.

Belmont ban

You see, I did something last night that I don't think I have done in a very, very long time. I watched a little of the local news and the very first story covered was on a smoking ban in Belmont. At first, I was all for it save for one point.

You see this ban would cause folks to not be able to smoke on the sidewalks or pretty much in public at all. Though I'm guessing there would be designated areas for such thing. It would also ban smoking in company cars, which makes sense as well. The part, though, that makes me suddenly go 'That is unconstitutional!' is that part of the ban would ban smoking inside residential rentals. I understand that apartments are temporary dwellings, but while someone lives in them, that is their home. Are we going to go into someone's home and police them over smoking? Now, not that it would bother me in the least if that was to happen, but at what point do we ask ourselves "have we gone too far?"

As much as I detest the practice of smoking due to the toxins that it is filled with and the use of nicotine to make it addictive and the inconsiderate nature some have exposing children/non-smokers to secondhand smoke, I feel something wrong with outlawing it in private dwellings, rental or not. Especially in this area where even some of the 'haves' can't buy a house or condo due to the overwhelming cost of living. What's your opinion?
